Visit the Town of Golden After Zipping in IDS

Across the river and through the woods sits the historic town of Golden, Colorado. Established as a gold-rush town in the 1860s, Golden is located between Lookout Mountain and two Tabletop Mountains fed by Clear Creek. Enjoy a beautiful scenic drive through the canyon after your zipline trip in Idaho Springs. There is a wide variety of things to do and see when you visit the town of Golden after ziplining.

Take a nice stroll through the main streets of Golden where everything is walking distance for you to relish in the 360 sunny days of Colorado. Clear Creek runs through the downtown of Golden, which offers thrilling recreationally built whitewater kayaking and canoeing for one quarter mile of continuous summertime fun! Not far from downtown is Colorado School of Mines with a free tour of their Geology Museum that holds one of the Goodwill moon rocks collected during the Apollo 17 mission.

FREE BEER! Need I say more? On the edge of town is the Coors Brewery Company the largest single-site brewing factory in the world. In 1873, Frederick J. Miller and Adolph Coors tapped their first barrel founding MillerCoors. Take a free self-paced walking tour of the brewery and your reward for completing are 3 free Coors beers.      IMG_3301

One particular note-worthy natural escape is North Table Mountain Park consisting of 15-plus miles of trails with panoramic views. A great quick 1.5 hike is the North Table Mountain Trail located right off of Highway 93 just north of Pine Ridge Road.

In Morrison, just outside of Golden lies the historic world renowned music venue Red Rocks Visitor Center and Amphitheater. This unique rock structure allows for open-air concerts with performances from many notable artists such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and U2 during their War Tour for a crowd of 9,000 people. During the day, visitors spend the day in awe over the remarkable Front Range view of Denver, while locals use the stairs as a great workout. On those cool summer nights wonderful opportunity awaits for Film on the Rocks.

Golden has many activities to participate in so don’t miss your chance for summertime play! There is something for everyone of all ages.
