The 150-foot-per-mile drop on the Lower Canyon will keep you and your group paddling all morning on Clear Creek. Technical, continuous rapids are challenging and a great step up to introduce you to some thrilling Class V rapids. Pair that with AVA’s mountaineering adventure, the Via Ferrata, and your day will be one to remember. You’ll hit the rapids in the morning, take a break for lunch to refuel, then head up the cliffside for a Via Ferrata tour. Spend the afternoon traversing the cliffside, doing some assisted rock climbing, rappelling down a 70-foot rock face, and zipping back down to our outpost. With our Idaho Springs location just thirty minutes into the mountains west of Denver, you’re in for an exhilarating day away from the front range.

We don’t want you to feel “nickel and dimed” when you show up for your trip with us. That’s why we provide wetsuits and splash jackets free of charge on your Lower Canyon Half Day trip. You’ll pay over $20 per person with some other outfitters. Your Via Ferrata adventure also includes everything you need. We try our best to prepare you with gear lists and suggested things to bring so that you don’t end up paying for unneeded add-ons.
