Ziplining is an adventure that any one can pretty much find anywhere! It has become popular worldwide (forgive us for being partial to Colorado Ziplining) but you may be surprised with all the fun facts about ziplining you never would have imagine to be true! Here are some fun interesting facts about ziplining:

1. Zip Lines first became popular because biologists used them.

Biologist doing research in the rainforest of Costa Rica would use the zip lines to get around the rainforest to observe things without disturbing the animals! How cool is that? Betcha never would have guessed!

2. In Australia and New Zealand a zipline is known as a flying fox.

The flying fox refers to a small zipline used on children’s playgrounds.

3. Children Zipline to School in China.

In some parts of China children zipline to school which is pretty amazing. Can you imagine if you grew up ziplining to school? It would be a pretty radical way to start your day! The children even zipline over the Nujiang river on their way to school.

4. In 2001 there were only 20 ziplines.

We are very fortunate to have a lot more than that now! Today you can find over 200 zip lines across the world! 5. The longest zip in the world is 1.3 miles long.

The longest zipline in the world is 6,490 ft! It is located in Peru and called The Eye of the Jaguar and it is 1.3 miles long! So if you’re down for speeds up to 68 miles an hour, maybe it is time for a trip to amazing Peru!
