Late Start Activities for People Who Love to Sleep In

Winter Mountain Getaways Train Ride

Many visitors come to the scenic Colorado Rocky Mountains for a once in a lifetime adventure experience. However, attempting to tackle several full days of activities can take a toll on the body. It may seem impossible to spend a much-needed morning sleeping in when there are so many experiences waiting right outside your door. Fortunately, Arkansas Valley Adventures (AVA) offers a variety of activities throughout the day to accommodate those visitors who are looking to get a little extra shuteye.

DSC_8546With several half day whitewater rafting trips on Clear Creek in historic Idaho Springs leaving as late as 6:00 pm, you are sure to catch up on your beauty rest. You could also consider a half day rafting trip out of our Granite location on the Arkansas River. Afternoon trips typically start around noon time and are available for both beginners and intermediate rafters. Have a hot fajita lunch prior to your trip and skip the extra effort of putting something together before hand. This is also an add-on option for all of AVA’s afternoon Mountaintop Zipline tours.

Worried you’ll be missing out on a full day trip experience if you sleep in too late? AVA also offers a 12:00 pm full day whitewater trip option called the Brown’s Canyon Express. You’ll get the same mileage in as the full day Brown’s Canyon Sizzler, but in fewer hours. The Express also has an add-on Dinner Mountaintop Zipline option. You can pack in just as many activities that an early morning trip entails, but later in the day.

There’s certainly no need to forfeit sleep to get the most out of your Colorado Rocky Mountains vacation. Catch up on some extra Z’s and let an Arkansas Valley Adventures agent guide you to some later day activities. AVA can be reached at 877-RAFTING or by visiting their website at
