For all of our leaf peepers, Colorado is getting more and more colorful every day! The trees are all turning and it is making for some of the most beautiful sight seeing we see all year long. If you’re in Colorado and looking for somewhere to really enjoy the fall foliage, here are 5 spots to enjoy Colorado’s fall colors.

boreas pass autumnBoreas Pass

For those in the Summit County area, a quick and easy way to gain some elevation and really enjoy the fall colors is to drive up Boreas Pass. This high elevation mountain road starts at the last traffic light on the sound end of Breckenridge. Make a left at the light and drive a few miles up to where the road turns to dirt and the sights become incredible. Here you will find yourself driving, walking, or biking below thousands of fully turned aspen trees that will create an absolutely beautiful atmosphere.

Town of Breckenridgegondola fall colors

Want to enjoy a meal or a drink in town but still look upon the vast beauties of the Ten Mile Range in fall? Breckenridge has quite a few restaurants and bars that have large outdoor seating areas that will allow you to enjoy the beauty of fall foliage, all while enjoying one of the many delicious craft beers in town or a bite to eat. Kenosha Steakhouse on Main Street has one of the largest decks in town and faces the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Angels Hollow on South Ridge Street also has an outdoor deck facing the resort. This one is a bit higher in elevation and our personal favorite for enjoying a drink with a view!

independence pass autumnIndependence Pass

Don’t forget to drive the nation’s most beautiful stretch of highway before it closes for winter! Independence Pass connects the Leadville area and the beautiful town of Aspen, Colorado. The aspens are sure to be looking beautiful this time of year and the drive to and from Aspen is truly breathtaking to say the least.
