Hiking in Buena Vista Colorado

Navigate the Whitewater Rapids

If your date is the adventurous type, rafting may be just the right option for you.  Buena Vista is home to the popular Arkansas River, and AVA’s outpost is situated north of the mountain town with optimal opportunities for rafting adventures.  The Numbers Wyldride runs down the class IV Numbers section of the Arkansas River and is set up for two guests plus an experienced guide in a smaller than normal raft. The 9-foot “lemon boats” create a more challenging, yet more intimate trip down the river. Ripping down whitewater will definitely be a date for the books.

Fly Among the Treetops

AVA also offers multiple aerial adventures in the Buena Vista area including a Mountaintop Zipline and Granite Via Ferrata.  Both will send you soaring among the mountain vistas and you’ll gawk at the breathtaking views surrounding you as your adrenaline pumps along the courses.

Post Up on a Patio

Summers in the Rockies are gorgeous, and the majority of bars and restaurants in the mountains are equipped with great patios to enjoy the mild and sunny Colorado weather.

House Rock Kitchen

The House Rock Kitchen has a large back patio area complete with games and plenty of health-conscious food options including their delicious bowls with their famous “super slaw.”

Eddyline Brewery

Another great spot to drink a beer and get some lunch on a patio is the Eddyline Brewery. They have an excellent draft line up of microbrews as well as a menu with fire grilled meat and pizza. After a day filled with activities nothing feels better than kicking back on a patio with a beer and good food, so why not end your day in Buena Vista?
