The month of August is one of the best times to enjoy a rafting trip in iconic Brown’s Canyon. If you had to choose one river to raft on and one section of that river, Brown’s Canyon on the Arkansas River might be the best choice in all of Colorado. With its continuous rapids and beautiful secluded scenery, this trip is well worth the journey. The continuous rapids surely give Brown’s its reputation but it is also well known because these rapids hold enough water well into August in order to accommodate guests who need to get their rafting fix late in the summer. It’s also another reason why Brown’s is the most rafted section of whitewater in the country.
AVA has a number of trips and trip lengths that raft on Brown’s, but the Brown’s Canyon Express (BCX) might be the best for everyone’s schedule. The BCX departs at noon and rafts almost the same amount of mileage as someone rafting on the full day Brown’s Canyon Sizzler. With a distance of 18 miles traveled and little to no brakes in the middle, this trip allows for the most rafting in shortest amount of time.
Now, the BCX alone does not include a lunch. There is a BCX with lunch option, but the best way to experience this trip might be to add a little more excitement to your day with the BCX and Dinner Zipline Tour. Rafting for multiple hours might ignite your hunger for some good grub, so why not have dinner with us after and then embark on our world class zipline tour. This trip has an age minimum of 10 years and a weight range between 75lbs. and 250lbs. so it is good for the whole family.
Come enjoy some late season rafting and ziplining with AVA!
