Buena Vista not only has some of the best views in the state of Colorado, but also has some of the best hometown pride as well. In Buena Vista the locals hold their heritage close to them. The Buena Vista Heritage Society preserves the traditions of the past through a variety of projects and properties. The town of Buena Vista has some great events and fun traditions.
To kick off the holidays Buena Vista is hosting a ton of great events. Celebrate the beginning of Christmas with Buena Vista’s Chocolate Walk, the Equine Parade, the Parade of lights, Festival of Trees and the famous Christmas Card Lane. It will be hard not to get into the Holiday spirit with all this cheer around! While these events are sure to make anyone’s holiday, the Bethlehem Marketplace, hosted by the Valley Fellowship Church, is coming back for it’s 13th season. As you walk through the market you will be immersed in authentic costumes, animals, and other sights. This free event is something you do not want to miss.
If looking for some on mountain fun, be sure to hit Monarch Mountain! This season Monarch Mountain will be holding their 75th birthday! To help celebrate, Wednesday, December 31st Monarch Munch will be taking place. Complete with fireworks, hot chocolate, and delicious food, this event is sure to be great! However, if looking for the tastiest event all year, the Chocolate Lover’s Fantasy is for you! February 8th, from 5:30pm to 8pm, there will be unlimited chocolate sampling, along with wine, beer, and live music!
Whatever you are planning to do this winter season, ski, snowmobile, I would be sure to make one of these awesome events a must do! Buena Vista is such a beautiful place, making it a great place to visit year round. With so much fun to be had there is no reason not to come visit Buena Vista.
