A great outdoor activity to experience this summer is mountain biking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Below are several different beginner trails in multiple cities to dip your toes into the popular Colorado experience.

In Summit County there are several different trails that are easy for beginners and will get your heart racing with excitement. Keystone Gulch to Soda Creek Loop is a 15.5 mile loop where you start from the Keystone Gulch trailhead. The average grade is 5% with a max grade of 24%. This trip is classified as beginner or intermediate single track trail.

summit mountain bikingA great trail for beginners starting in Breckenridge is called Lower Flume. It is great for families and beginners looking for some introductory mountain biking. The loop is 6.5 miles with average grade of 3% and max grade of 23%. Riding the trail counterclockwise will give you the most climbing experience while riding it clockwise will give you some speed and downhill action.

In the beautiful Arkansas Valley in Buena Vista there is a single track trail called South Loop that is a 11.5 mile loop with average grade 4% and max grade 22%. The starting location is close to the downtown and if you are interested in adding more mileage you can add the Midland Bike Trail out and back.
