November in Denver is a unique time to visit, the foliage from the elm, maple and honey locust trees are changing from lively green to orange then red, finally falling on the ground covering the town in drifts of brown leaves. There are numerous events in the metropolitan area from family oriented events, nature lovers and nightlife.

The Festival of trees in Greeley is a great way to kick off this holiday season with Christmas lights and other beautiful decorated trees enjoyable by an authentic carriage buggy ride through the lobbies of lights. There are activities for all ages including meeting Mr. and Mrs. Claus , face painting and even Holly and Noel the talking Christmas trees!christmas ights There is a silent auction that will include seasonal and year round items like jewelry.  There will also be a special holiday performance from the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as live music from 4 other holiday bands that will keep the festival on their feet enjoying the seasonal family fun. The event starts November 29- December 7

 

If you’re interested in getting outside before the cold is here for good, check out Castlewood Canyon State Park for some educational and once in a life time events. November 9th will hold “porcupines in the park”. It will include a short hike and interesting information about porcupines and their natural habitat presented by Wildlife Rehabilitator Linda Cope. Also on November 16th the park will host a Full Moon hike through the park with park Interpreter Warren Coker.

If you’re looking for a party this one of a kind event is sure to call your name. The 5th annual Lumberjack party is the biggest flannel gathering around. Lumberjacks will get a free entry and a free brew of your choice. The tavern downtown will be hosting the event with drink specials till closing at 2 am.
