Looking to do some great outdoor activities this summer down in Buena Vista? Wondering where to stay while you are down there? Let us break that all down for you!

Mt. Princeton RV Park

First up is RV parking for those of you making a pit stop on your cross-country road trip. There are a couple different options for RV camping in Buena vista. Mt Princeton RV Park is located at 30380 CR 383 in Buena Vista Colorado. They provide full hook up with water, sewer, and your choice of 30 AMP or 50 AMP. They also have pull thru sites as well as back in sites that are level and have a picnic table, most with trees and grass. Their new clubhouse has clean bathrooms with spacious showers, laundry services, and a gathering room.

KOA RV park is my favorite option for RV camping. I stayed at the site and absolutely loved it! You are surrounded by beautiful scenery of 14,000+ peaks all around you. There is a dog park and a playground for the kiddos! They do have fire pits available at the camp sites but use will be dependent on fire bans that are in effect for the county. There are also a bunch of hiking/ biking trails nearby. It is a short fifteen-minute drive into the beautiful town on Buena Vista. Which has many great restaurants and bars!

Twin Lakes

Next up we will get into the best tent camping in Buena Vista! Twin Lakes is a great option for tent camping. The lakes and campgrounds are situated at the base of Mt. Albert. You will be able to take in some amazing views of the Rocky Mountains all while having the ability to fish and swim! I would check the water temps before diving in though! They tend to be on the warmer side for Colorado but they can still be pretty chilly! There are designated camp ground areas located at Twin Lakes. White Star and Dexter Point campgrounds are maintained by The National Forest. There are also some unofficial camping spots on the lake that you can definitely take advantage of if they are available. They are on a first come first serve basis. Otherwise if you are planning to camp at one of the Forest Service Campgrounds make sure to visit RECREATION.GOV to make sure you have everything you need permit wise.

The final place to stay in Buena Vista is the most unknown to people visiting the area from out of town. Colorado is home to 30+ Hot Springs. Some do not provide lodging, but luckily there is one located in Buena Vista that does! Mount Princeton is a gorgeous hot spring located at the base of the Mount Princeton 14er. They not only have man made pools they also have natural pools along the river that vary in temperature. Mount Princeton provides full amenities of hotel rooms or cabin rentals. They also have a spa that grants you admission to the hot springs with any service package. Looking for dinner options?! There is an onsite dining facility or Mount Princeton is located just a short 15-20-minute drive to mains street in Buena Vista. Perfect for going into town for dinner after a long day of soaking in the hot springs.
