The snow is falling. The chairs are turning. The ziplines are zipping? That’s right, there are still plenty of ziplines around the state of Colorado that are still operating throughout the winter season.
Crested Butte
Crested Butte offers more than just a winter zipline experience as it’s course features suspended bridges in addition to it’s five different ziplines. The lines range from 120-400 feet and are connected by the suspended wooden bridges and platforms. For those ready for a day off from the ski slopes, look no further than this incredible activity. Zipline tours are offered daily during winter operations and are one and a half to two hours long.
High Country Activities
Everybody likes options right? Well with three different locations all with unique operational times, High Country Activities has a zipline option for everyone. You will find High Country Activities excursions in Leadville, Idaho Springs, and Copper Mountain. The Leadville location offers both ziplining and snowmobiling. Lunch is provided with the snowmobiling making it a perfect way to spend a day away from skiing or snowboarding. For those in Denver, the High Country’s Idaho springs zipline course is a quick, 30 minute drive, and offers six different zips. This Idaho Sprigns location is open during November, March, and April. For those looking for a cheaper and faster zipline experience, the High Country zipline at Copper Mountain is a terrific option. No reservations are needed for this trip, they are offered every day from 2 PM to 6 PM, and are only $10 per zip.
Denver Adventures
Another great option for those near Denver would be the Denver Adventure Tours. There are a few options when you zip here and it offers Colorado’s longest and fastest zip-lines. There is a main tour that features six different ziplines, or if you are pressed for time there is an option of doing a four line zipline. The four line tour would take less than two hours, but for those looking for the ultimate trip, there is an 8-line tour which consists of the two longest and fastest lines. An extra plus is that these trips can be combined with the “zip and sip” option where you can taste Colorado micro brews at their neighboring tavern “Colorado’s Best Beers”.
