Landscapes in the park vary greatly and include towering mountains, alpine tundra, crystal clear lakes, meadows, and evergreens, and provide the ecosystem for multiple endangered species.

THE COLORADO RIVER
The Colorado River spans seven states and flows through Grand Canyon on its journey from the Continental Divide to Mexico’s Gulf of California. This mighty river is a vital water source for 36 million people, and one which AVA is privileged to offer access to from our Kremmling outpost, conveniently located only 40 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park.
We offer relaxing and unforgettable experiences on the Colorado River with our scenic half-day and full-day float trips. In addition to rafts, guests have the option to paddle an Inflatable Kayak or Stand up Paddleboard, allowing you and your group to tailor your adventure! As the river meanders through the stunning Gore Range, visitors will encounter gentle rapids, allowing for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Our float trips offer ample opportunities to swim, sunbathe, and unwind on the river.
We also run our overnight 24 Hours on the Upper Colorado trip from our Kremmling outpost, enabling guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Upper Colorado River day and night. For fishing enthusiasts, we offer a range of Fly-Fishing opportunities, including Walk and Wade, Float, and Overnight trips, allowing you to experience the beauty of the river, while learning how to reel in the big ones!

Located an hour and a half from Rocky Mountain National Park, Clear Creek offers exceptional rafting experiences near the Denver area, and our Idaho Springs outpost provides convenient access to the river. With options suitable for all ages and skill levels, Clear Creek is renowned for delivering the best rafting in the area and is a perfect stop on your way to Denver! As you journey along Clear Creek, you’ll pass through the historic town of Idaho Springs and its scenic mining valley, while encountering local wildlife.
For a gentle introduction to whitewater rafting that’s perfect for all ages, our Clear Creek Gold Rush 1/3 day trip is an excellent choice. Experience the thrill of rushing through eleven exhilarating class III rapids while enjoying a family-friendly adventure. If you’re up for a slightly more challenging experience, our Upper Clear Creek 1/2 day trip is exhilarating, while not overly intense, as you navigate through steeper and more technical class IV rapids, and our Lower Canyon 1/2 day provides an introductory option to more challenging class V whitewater rapids that will get your heart racing. And for those seeking the ultimate adrenaline rush, our Phoenix trip is a full-day advanced adventure covering 20 miles of non-stop excitement!
