Fall in Colorado is considered a shoulder season by most. A shoulder season consists of the time between winter and summer where Colorado’s popular attractions like skiing or rafting are closed down and people are unaware of all the cool happenings. Here are some reasons to take a trip to Colorado this September.
Snowboard on the Block – Snowboard on the Block is Colorado’s kickoff to the new winter season. September 14th in Denver, Snowboard on the Block will take over three city blocks to set up for this event. Activities include a skateboard and snowboard demo, over twenty snowboard video premieres, and tons of live music. Get ready for the new snowboard season at Snowboard on the Block!
Vail Oktoberfest – Oktoberfest is a tradition observed worldwide. It seems that every town has their own rendition of this classic German celebration, but Vail has an Oktoberfest that is possibly the best in the state. For two weekends in Vail, Sept. 6-8th and Sept. 13-15th, Lionshead Village will be home to Oktoberfest. Come experience all the beer, bratwurst, and lederhosen you can handle!
Mount Royal Hill Climb – Fall in the Rockies sees the return of the Mount Royal Hill Climb. This two mile race is anything but easy. Racers will ascend 1,500 vertical feet to the summit of Mount Royal. The first man and woman to reach the top will be crowned king and queen of the mountain. Added benefit is a free breakfast at the end of the run in Frisco’s Historic Park Lawn. Race is set to take place September 7th so sign up soon.
