What to expect
On Your Bike Rental Adventure

AVA is 25 Years of Adventure
AVA Rafting & Zipline has been providing top-notch outdoor adventure experiences in Colorado since 1998. AVA Began as a whitewater rafting company on the Arkansas River, running trips with only four boats and a handful of staff. We have since expanded our adventure options, offering Bike Rental opportunities through our partner company, Breckenridge Ski & Sport since 2020.
Above all else, a passion for Colorado’s outdoors, thrilling adventure experiences, and outstanding guest service inspires AVA to exceed industry standards from inception until today. We hope that a bike rental with AVA will deepen your appreciation for Colorado’s great outdoors and the recreation opportunities which allow us to explore and adventure. For this reason, we seek to provide a range of bike rental opportunities, allowing everyone to get outside and on the trails! We continually work to provide innovative biking and adventure options for our guests, as they visit and explore the best of Colorado.

Your Bike Rental with AVA
We offer a fleet of full-suspension and hardtail mountain bikes, leisure bikes, and E-bikes to ensure everyone has a bike of choice, no matter your skill level or desired terrain. We also offer youth bikes for ages 6 and up. Breckenridge and Summit County have numerous options for summer riding. For those looking to chase thrills, purchase a lift ticket at Breckenridge Resort to experience some of the best downhill riding in the area. Riders can also find numerous mountain bike trails on AllTrails or MTB Project, and the local recreational path system provides hours of family-friendly fun. We offer half-day, full-day, or multi-day rental options.

How to prepare for your adventure
A helmet is included with all our bike rentals. All bikes have flat pedals and should be ridden with mountain bike-specific or sturdy shoes–all shoes, however, must be closed-toed! We also recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing along a backpack, water, sunscreen, Chapstick, and a jacket to fully enjoy your day of biking, as the weather in the mountains can change quickly!

Your Mountain Bike Rental

Full Suspension vs. Hardtail
Full Suspension:
A full suspension Diamondback bike features both front and rear shocks, providing an ideal option for rough, bumpy, and tricky terrain. With extra rear suspension, you can easily float over obstacles without feeling the shock in your back. These bikes are perfect for advanced trails and downhill courses in the Breckenridge area.
Hardtail:
If you’re looking for something lighter and more efficient, one of our hardtail Diamondback bikes may be the way to go. This bike only features front suspension, making it easier to handle for less advanced riders. It is also ideal for endurance terrain, providing support without the extra weight of a full suspension. Whether you’re tackling hills or cruising through easier trails, a hardtail bike will not disappoint!
All of our mountain bikes are equipped with 27.5 in. tires

What Should I Wear Mountain Biking?
When it comes to mountain biking, your level of comfort will dictate what protective gear you may need. If you’re a first-time rider, it’s recommended to wear elbow and knee pads, which should be purchased before your day of rental.
Despite this, if you are only planning to ride for one day and not looking to purchase your own gear, wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants that cover your elbows and knees can also provide protection in case of a fall.
We additionally recommend gloves to prevent your palms from slipping and your hands in a fall as well as tall socks to prevent brush and debris from causing any harm to your ankles.
Don't just take our word for it
